The team made the signing on Monday, just a week after Clapp announced his retirement from the league.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">After being sidelined for the entire 2025 season with a season-ending injury sustained in the preseason, Clapp is officially joining a staff he worked closely with throughout his recovery this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Clapp, a New Orleans native, will stick around the Crescent City a little longer in his new role. He played prep football as a Crusader at Brother Martin High School before going on to play at the collegiate level in-state for LSU. Clapp was a three-year starter for the Tigers before being selected by the Saints in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">He played the first four seasons of his career in New Orleans before spending time with both the Buffalo Bills and the Los Angeles Chargers.
