If there\u2019s a championship-caliber team that\u2019s in position to be aggressive this offseason, it\u2019s the Los Angeles Rams. They have around $40 million in cap space<\/a> to go with two first-round picks, giving them the assets to make a big move like they have so many times under Les Snead and Sean McVay.<\/p>\n

Snead met with reporters on Tuesday and indicated that the team is open to trading one of its two first-rounders for a proven player. According to Nate Atkins of The Athletic, Snead specifically mentioned the secondary being a focus, even asking, \u201cIs there an All-Pro that you could add?\u201d<\/p>\n

Naturally, everyone\u2019s minds went to Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie, who many people believe could be on the trade block. Snead said the Rams are already having trade talks, which ramp up this time of year.<\/p>\n

The Rams’ biggest position of need is cornerback, and they could also use safety help if Kamren Curl isn’t re-signed in free agency. With Cobie Durant, Roger McCreary and Ahkello Witherspoon all being pending free agents this offseason, the Rams’ cornerback group could look very different.<\/p>\n

Adding a proven veteran via trade or in free agency would free the Rams up in the draft to take the best player available, rather than feeling forced to address a need.<\/p>\n

Keeping both first-round picks is also a possibility, of course, and Snead is open to that. Using them to select two incoming prospects would give the Rams young building blocks on either side of the ball, whether it’s a corner, tight end, wide receiver or safety.<\/p>\n

No matter which direction the Rams go, they have options available, which puts them in a great position heading into free agency and the draft.<\/p>\n
