We’re back with another set of positional rookie rankings, and tight ends are the focus of this article. Tight ends usually take time to develop, but we’ve seen a handful of rookie TEs produce right away over the last few seasons. To assist with your rookie drafts, let’s dive into these 2025 fantasy football rookie tight end rankings.\u00a0Below, you will find out where pass-catchers like Tyler Warren<\/a>, Colston Loveland<\/a>, Elijah Arroyo<\/a>, Harold Fannin Jr.<\/a>, Gunnar Helm<\/a>, Mitchell Evans<\/a>, and more stand among all rookie TEs.<\/p>\n

These 2025 rookie rankings are released after the 2025 NFL Draft. Continuous tweaks will be made to these rankings for fantasy football rookies<\/a> all offseason long, so be sure to check back regularly for updates. Rookie rankings are from after the 2025 NFL Draft<\/p>\n

Colston Loveland, Chicago Bears<\/p>\n

Chicago Bears rookie tight end\u00a0Colston Loveland<\/a>\u00a0was drafted with the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, giving him elite draft capital. Despite his lack of college production, he had horrible QB play last season, so his statistics were misleading. He’s an elite route-runner for a tight end and is 6-foot-6, so he has an elite catch radius. Right now, he’s still recovering from a shoulder injury he played through in 2024 that he had surgery to address in the offseason.<\/p>\n

Loveland being thought of so highly by new Bears head coach Ben Johnson says a lot. While the team already has wide receivers\u00a0DJ Moore<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Rome Odunze<\/a>, and drafted wideout\u00a0Luther Burden III<\/a>\u00a0in the second round of the 2025 draft, Loveland has a chance to immediately become the team’s TE1 and take over a solid share of the passing game. Tight end\u00a0Cole Kmet<\/a>\u00a0figures to be Loveland’s backup.<\/p>\n

Still, it’s a crowded pass-catcher room, making it hard to project Loveland’s volume. His ADP in redraft leagues is very low, though, so it shouldn’t be hard to draft him in the later rounds. He’s immensely talented and will be in the hands of an immensely talented offensive mind in Johnson. So he has a ton of upside for not being very expensive. He’s absolutely worth drafting and could finish as a top-8 TE this season.<\/p>\n

Mason Taylor, New York Jets<\/p>\n

Taylor put together three solid campaigns in his college career at LSU. He totaled 38 catches for 414 yards and three touchdowns in his freshman season in 2022 and then caught 36 catches for 348 yards and one touchdown in 2023. It was impressive to see Taylor total over 750 receiving yards combined in his first two college seasons, considering he battled with\u00a0Malik Nabers<\/a>,\u00a0Kayshon Boutte<\/a>, and\u00a0Brian Thomas Jr.<\/a> for targets in those two years. With all three of those wideouts gone entering the 2024 season, though, LSU expected more from the 6-foot-5 tight end in his final college campaign.<\/p>\n

It’s safe to say that Taylor delivered by having his best season with the Tigers. He totaled a career-high 55 catches for 546 yards and two touchdowns in 2024. There were also plenty of games last year in which the Florida native showed his receiving potential. He caught seven passes for 62 yards in a non-conference game against USC and then totaled eight catches for 77 yards against UCLA a few weeks later.<\/p>\n

So, it’s not\u00a0a surprise\u00a0that the Jets took him early in the second round. The tight-end position was a\u00a0huge\u00a0need for the team this offseason, and Taylor immediately fills that need. While the 21-year-old could be a better run-blocker, his hands are a\u00a0huge\u00a0boost to this New York offense in 2025 and beyond. He\u00a0only dropped one pass last season and had a 69.5 PFF receiving grade.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As a result, Taylor could be a nice pick later in the second round of rookie drafts.\u00a0He just turned 21\u00a0years old\u00a0on May 8 and\u00a0has the potential to\u00a0be a fantasy contributor in Year 1.\u00a0Rich Cimini of ESPN said\u00a0the tight end “should have a significant role as a rookie.”\u00a0That’s\u00a0certainly\u00a0fantastic news for his dynasty value.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Elijah Arroyo, Seattle Seahawks<\/p>\n

Arroyo didn’t see many opportunities in his first three seasons at Miami (FL). In those three years, he caught a combined 11 passes for 163 yards and one touchdown. However, the 6-foot-5 tight end broke out in his final college campaign in 2024. He totaled a career-high 35 passes for 590 yards and seven touchdowns across 13 games.<\/p>\n

Noah Fant<\/a> is in the last year of his two-year deal, and Arroyo has the skill set to eventually be Seattle’s TE1. He’s a big, athletic tight end with the tools to be a consistent weapon in the NFL. The 6-foot-5 tight end could be a solid pick early in the third round of rookie drafts. <\/p>\n

Arroyo will eventually overtake Fant as the Seahawks’ starting tight end, and his receiving\u00a0potential could make him a consistent fantasy option once that happens.\u00a0Dynasty owners\u00a0just need to be patient with the 22-year-old because he might not see many targets in this Seattle offense in 2025, and the jury is out on quarterback Sam Darnold, who could have been a one-year wonder with the Minnesota Vikings in 2024.<\/p>\n

Harold Fannin Jr., Cleveland Browns<\/p>\n

The Cleveland Browns drafted tight end\u00a0Harold Fannin Jr.<\/a>\u00a0to join fellow TE\u00a0David Njoku<\/a>\u00a0to create an interesting tight end tandem for the 2025 season. Fannin put up monster stats in college, catching 117 passes for 1,555 yards and 10 touchdowns at Bowling Green. Yes, it was Bowling Green, but that’s still impressive for a TE. As of right now, Njoku will remain the team’s top starting TE. And Fannin, standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 241 pounds, is slightly undersized at his position in the NFL.<\/p>\n

There are quite a few mediocre receivers he’ll have to compete with for targets, of course, and if he’s playing behind Njoku, he probably won’t be on the field a lot outside of 2-TE formations on offense. With the team’s quarterback situation in turmoil, it’s hard to imagine Fannin having a big 2025.<\/p>\n

He ran a 4.71-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, which wasn’t great, but at his height and weight, that’s not terrible. Perhaps in a subsequent season, when Cleveland can get some good quarterback play, Fannin could be serviceable in redraft leagues. For now, he’s better as a dynasty stash for when the team moves on from Njoku, who consistently has injury issues. Those issues do give Fannin a small contingent upside as well.<\/p>\n
