{"id":793267,"date":"2026-03-05T07:48:19","date_gmt":"2026-03-05T07:48:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/793267\/"},"modified":"2026-03-05T07:48:19","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T07:48:19","slug":"chiefs-to-send-cb-mcduffie-to-rams-for-29th-overall-pick-in-2026-draft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/793267\/","title":{"rendered":"Chiefs to send CB McDuffie to Rams for 29th overall pick in 2026 draft"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KANSAS CITY, Mo. \u2014 The Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams are reportedly working on a \u201d<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AdamSchefter\/status\/2029237429467550026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">blockbuster trade deal<\/a>,\u201d per Adam Schefter, ESPN Senior NFL Insider.<\/p>\n<p>Report: Chiefs to trade McDuffie to Rams<\/p>\n<p>Schefter says the Chiefs would trade All-Pro <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/McDuTr00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">cornerback Trent McDuffie<\/a> to the Rams for the 29th overall pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, as well as picks in the fifth and sixth rounds. The deal would also include a third-round pick in 2027.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Full trade, per source:<\/p>\n<p>Rams receive:<br \/>\ud83c\udfc8CB Trent McDuffie<\/p>\n<p>Chiefs receive:<br \/>\ud83c\udfc81st-round pick, No. 29<br \/>\ud83c\udfc85th <br \/>\ud83c\udfc86th<br \/>\ud83c\udfc82027- 3rd<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AdamSchefter\/status\/2029238508628455708?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">March 4, 2026<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>McDuffie, 25, would then be expected to sign a long-term deal with LA, per Schefter.<\/p>\n<p>The corner back was picked 21st overall by the Chiefs in the 2022 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n<p>His first four seasons in the NFL resulted in two AP All-Pro selections, three Super Bowl appearances and two Super Bowl wins.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.chiefs.com\/team\/players-roster\/trent-mcduffie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The Chiefs report<\/a> he is tied for the second-most sacks for a cornerback in league history in a player\u2019s first two seasons (4).<\/p>\n<p>McDuffie played college ball at Washington.<\/p>\n<p>Schefter reports this is the <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AdamSchefter\/status\/2029238945905574288\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">second time in three years<\/a> the team has traded away a top cornerback, the first being L\u2019Jarius Sneed, who went to the Titans.<\/p>\n<p>The future of cornerback Jaylen Watson is reportedly <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JaylenWatson12\/status\/2028915999806763433\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">up in the air<\/a> as well.
