Bill Huber\u2019s recent list<\/a> of realistic free-agent options highlights several players who could help the Packers address roster weaknesses without jeopardizing their long-term plans or their preference for collecting compensatory picks.<\/p>\n Near the top of that list is center Tyler Biadasz. The Wisconsin native and former Badgers standout was recently released by the Washington Commanders, making him a true street free agent. As our own RCon14 recently wrote<\/a>, Biadasz offers upside and would immediately solve one of the Packers\u2019 lingering offensive-line questions. And having been released, signing him would not count against the team\u2019s compensatory-pick formula. The signing would be cap-tested, Ted Thompson\u2019s ghost-approved. If you get both those references, it\u2019s time to book a colonoscopy.<\/p>\n Another practical option from Huber\u2019s list is veteran defensive tackle Calais Campbell. At 39 years old, he\u2019d be a bit of an exception to the team\u2019s typical modus operandi, but the connection to new defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon could make the move appealing.<\/p>\n This list goes on, and it\u2019s a good reminder that while the Packers may not be in a position to make any blockbuster acquisitions, practical moves exist which could help them find solid ground in a crowded NFC.<\/p>\n
