In a 658-page filing to the Mississippi State Supreme Court today, the NCAA is asking the court to overrule the injunction and expedite the ruling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">This is the heart of the NCAA filing today. They claim NCAA members and athletes \u201cwill be irreparably harmed.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/iqjWguA5rO\" rel=\"nofollow\">https:\/\/t.co\/iqjWguA5rO<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/GrrxUg0Pe5\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/GrrxUg0Pe5<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Pete Thamel (@PeteThamel) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PeteThamel\/status\/2029657337150005695?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">March 5, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>There is a lot to consider for this case, and the court wants this to be \u201cfair\u201d to current student athletes. Weeks ago, the <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/ncaa-football\/ncaa-football-news-statement-trinidad-chambliss\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NCAA defended the eligibility rules after the Chambliss ruling<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will continue to defend the NCAA\u2019s eligibility rules against repeated attempts to rob future generations of the opportunity,\u201d the statement read in part.<\/p>\n<p>It seems ike the NCAA is never going to give in on their rules. Chambliss is trying to play an extra year, and if that ended up being allowed, it would cause a domino effect in the league. This is really a lose-lose situation that needs to be resolved quickly. Though that is never the case with Supreme Court hearings.<\/p>\n<p>Despite all this, <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/ncaa-football\/ole-miss-football-news-trinidad-chambliss-6th-year-eligibility-catch\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chambliss was granted a 6th year of eligibility<\/a> and will likely play with the Rebels for another chance to win a National Championship. The Rebels will be very good again next season, and Chambliss will be one of the top players in the country.
