The 2025 NFL<\/a> season saw the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> reach the postseason with Aaron Rodgers as quarterback and Mike Tomlin coaching in his final season. Once they exited early from the postseason, Tomlin and the Steelers parted ways.<\/p>\n

Rodgers, who recently said there are no contract offers from the Steelers, is still deciding what’s next in his career. Pittsburgh hired Mike McCarthy as its new head coach, who previously coached Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers to a Super Bowl win.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, as the veteran quarterback’s situation remains unclear, the Steelers could make another big move by acquiring a Super Bowl hero to significantly boost their offensive capabilities.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, 93.7 The Fan’s Andrew Fillipponi<\/a> reported via an unnamed source that there are internal discussions by the Steelers about Seattle Seahawks<\/a> Super Bowl MVP, Kenneth Walker III. According to Filliponi, Pittsburgh will monitor Walker’s situation once the legal tampering period arrives.<\/p>\n

He added that the Steelers’ team MVP, Kenneth Gainwell III, is a free agent and that Pittsburgh’s general manager Omar Khan suggested at the NFL Scouting Combine that the team could do things that “might not be normal” regarding the roster.<\/p>\n

In terms of average rushing yards per game, the Steelers ranked seventh-worst last season with just 103.3 per game. Jaylen Warren racked up 958 yards and six touchdowns, followed by Gainwell with 537 yards and five touchdowns. <\/p>\n

A star like Walker would provide the team with a much more explosive option. He achieved 1,027 yards and 10 touchdowns for the Seahawks last season and played in all 17 games. Add their sensational championship run to his resume, as he ran for 313 yards and four touchdowns, on his way to the Super Bowl MVP Award, along with his ring.<\/p>\n

The Steelers can begin making some potential moves next week. Monday marks the start of the legal tampering period in the NFL, which allows contract negotiations between teams and players\u2019 agents. Two days afterward, free agency opens, and trading resumes as 2025 contracts expire.<\/p>\n

While Seattle didn\u2019t use a franchise tag on Walker, they\u2019re still interested in resigning him, but will face some competition. In addition to the recent report involving Pittsburgh, the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Giants have also been strongly linked to Walker in free agency speculation.<\/p>\n
