There may be a new free agent option at defensive tackle for the Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a> to consider.<\/p>\n ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler<\/a> reported that the Minnesota Vikings<\/a> are expected to release veteran defensive tackle Jonathan Allen due to salary cap restraints.<\/p>\n Defensive tackle is one of the bigger positions of need that the\u00a0Jaguars<\/a>\u00a0have this offseason, but as\u00a0ESPN’s<\/a>\u00a0Ben Solak detailed recently, between free agency and the draft,\u00a0options may be limited<\/a>.<\/p>\n So any additional options for the Jaguars<\/a> to potentially pursue could be beneficial.<\/p>\n Allen measures in at 6-3, 300 pounds, and was a first-round pick by Washington in 2017. Out of 121 eligible defensive tackles, Allen ranked 33rd in pass rush win rate. Against the run, he totaled 65 tackles.<\/p>\n Allen is a two-time Pro Bowler in the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
