All Aaron Rodgers<\/a> could do was keep the whole world on its toes about his retirement. And when the whole world was tapping their fingers on the table waiting, a video resurfaced online in which he spoke highly of the Pittsburgh Steelers\u2019 then-head coach.In an Oct. 2021 appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers said he had been a big fan of Mike Tomlin for a long time. He liked the way the coach spoke highly of his team. And he liked how the coach went about his business. He heard only good things from guys who had played for Tomlin.<\/p>\n

The video of Rodgers praising Tomlin resurfaced in June 2025, coinciding with the period when Rodgers signed his brand-new contract with the Steelers.More recently, during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers spoke highly of current head coach Mike McCarthy, who was also his former coach in Green Bay. Is this a signal for Rodgers\u2019 comeback? Is he coming back for another season, just to retire with a team he whole-heartedly admires and a coach he began his NFL<\/a> journey with? Aaron Rodgers steals Ben Roethlisberger\u2019s words for Pittsburgh coach Mike McCarthy<\/p>\n

Back when a lot of criticism came McCarthy\u2019s way for being hired as Pittsburgh coach, Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger came to his rescue.In late January, on his Footbahlin podcast, the former quarterback said fans should give the coach a chance because he bled black and gold as a kid. He said the fans should value a coach who bled black and gold as a kid more than an offensive-minded genius.Roethlisberger wanted the Steelers Nation to give McCarthy a chance because he has a proven track record. He then parted the podcast with a warning, \u201cI\u2019m mad that people don\u2019t give this guy a chance because he wants this job. I want everyone to call in and tell me how wrong they were in three years.\u201dSo, Rodgers reinforced Roethlisberger\u2019s statement during his recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.\u201cMike bleeds Pittsburgh, PA,\u201d Rodgers said. \u201cThere\u2019s something special about that.
