However, Schultz reports that the two sides didn\u2019t want to part ways and that there seems to be a good relationship between Singletary and John Harbaugh.<\/p>\n
Singletary lost his starting job twice over the last two years, first to Tyrone Tracy in 2024, and then to Cam Skattebo in 2025. And while Singletary is likely the Giants\u2019 3rd back, he\u2019s a tough and versatile runner who can carry the ball between the tackles, contribute in the passing game, and execute the Giants\u2019 full offensive playbook. He stepped up admirably after Skattebo was injured and was a real contributor to a running game that finished 5th in the NFL in yards and EPA, as well as 4th in touchdowns scored.<\/p>\n
The Giants have been heavily rumored to be interested in top running backs this year, reportedly doing work on top players. There have been rumors that the team is interested in veteran Kenneth Walker as well as top running back prospect Jeremiyah Love.<\/p>\n
The decision to keep Singletary might not kill those rumors completely, but the team seems to be leaning toward a \u201crunning back by committee\u201d approach.
