It\u2019s not the word of Jason Kelce or Taylor Swift, but someone close to Travis Kelce has a feeling about the tight end\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

Retirement rumors have swirled<\/a> around Kelce after the Chiefs season ended, marking his 13th NFL campaign. Fellow podcaster and former NFL linebacker Will Compton weighed in on what he believes the Chiefs star will opt to do in 2026 for one simple reason.<\/p>\n

\u201cI bet Travis Kelce runs it back with the Chiefs for one more year,\u201d Compton wrote on X<\/a> on Friday. \u201cEverything waiting for him will still be there. He isn\u2019t ending his career 6-11, 3rd in the division, the laughing stock of the NFL, & seeing the dynasty he helped build continue to burn. He can\u2019t go out like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Compton, who had Kelce as a guest on his show \u201cBussin\u2019 With The Boys\u201d\u00a0with Taylor Lewan in July 2025, asked the three-time Super Bowl champ about his future in the league.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m focused on this one,\u201d Kelce said then. \u201cI don\u2019t know what next year is going to feel like. I don\u2019t know what I\u2019m going to feel like in March or April next year when I make that decision.\u201d<\/p>\n

For the 2025 season, it was clear Kelce didn\u2019t want to end on the sour note that was losing handily to the Eagles in the Super Bowl, 40-22, at the start of that year. He made it known in February that he was running it back another year.<\/p>\n

But this past season didn\u2019t turn out any better.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs went on to have a tough 6-11 season and missed the playoffs for the first time in 11 years. On a personal note, Kelce logged 76 catches for 851 yards and five touchdowns.<\/p>\n

Since then, Kelce hasn\u2019t said publicly what his future holds.<\/p>\n
