So did Charlie Heck, but being a backup offensive lineman is about consistency. And they were all lacking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Bucs need better veteran backups on the interior offensive line.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Alex Cappa was the Bucs\u2019 Super Bowl season stud at right guard. Cappa, a Bucs third-round pick in 2018 had a strong 2021 season, then told Tom Brady, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joebucsfan.com\/2022\/03\/alex-cappa-said-no-to-the-goat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">\u2018no thank, bruh<\/a>\u2018 and left for the Bengals in free agency on a fat contract.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">A year ago, Cappa went to Brady\u2019s Raiders on a two-year contract but was cut today, per various reports. Locals in Las Vegas say Cappa didn\u2019t play well at guard but actually impressed when pushed into starting duty at center.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Now 31 years old, it appears Cappa has quality, versatile backup written all over him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This isn\u2019t Joe looking to the past; it\u2019s Joe looking to the future \u2014 hopefully one that puts a better backup in the Bucs\u2019 offensive line room.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Alex Cappa Becomes A Free Agent March 6th, 2026 .
