The Miami Dolphins<\/a> have been making constant changes this offseason, first, finding a new general manager and head coach, and now, moving on from some veterans before the start of the new league year.<\/p>\n

Late last week, the Dolphins released kicker Jason Sanders<\/a> after eight years with the team to get younger and save $3.92 million in cap space.<\/p>\n

After the news of the transaction broke, Sanders took to social media to share a final message with the team, his teammates and the fans that supported him.<\/p>\n

“To the Miami Dolphins<\/a> organization, coaches, staff, and teams, after eight amazing years in Miami, it is hard to put into words what this journey has meant to me. I have loved every single moment of being a Dolphin, and I am grateful to have called Hard Rock Stadium my home for the past 8 years,” Sanders wrote.<\/p>\n

“To the fans, thank you for your support over the years and all of the memories that I’ll never forget. While this chapter in South Florida is coming to a close, I look forward to what’s next. Fins Up!”<\/p>\n

Sanders made 84.6% of field goals (187-for-221) and 96.6% of his extra points (259-for-268). He was also named an All-Pro in 2020. His 187 field goals made were the second-most in franchise history, only behind Olindo Mare, who made 245 on an 80.9% field goal percentage.<\/p>\n
