\u201cThe cornerback market has been reset in the NFL once more. Trent McDuffie, who recently was traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Los Angeles Rams, signed a new four-year contract extension<\/a> on Sunday at a total value of $124 million.<\/p>\n Averaging $31 million per year and including $100 million in guarantees, McDuffie now sits atop the rankings at his position in both categories. How long he will remain in the top spot will be seen, however, because there is a clear candidate to surpass him in all of those categories in the near future: New England Patriots standout Christian Gonzalez.\u201c<\/p>\n The Rams just shifted what this free agency cycle could look like, especially in the defensive back market. The Rams have extended Quentin Lake, Cam Kurl and now McDuffie.
