The Pittsburgh Steelers lost starting left guard Isaac Seumalo <\/a>to free agency on Monday, as he agreed to sign a three-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals.<\/p>\n

Seumalo agreed to a three-year, $31.5 million contract that includes $19 million in guaranteed money, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.<\/a><\/p>\n

Seumalo, 31, is a 10-year NFL veteran who spent the last three seasons in Pittsburgh. Signed as a free agent rom the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023, he immediately helped solidify the left side of the Steelers offensive line, with left tackle Dan Moore Jr. and then Broderick Jones<\/a> and Dylan Cook<\/a> being able to lean on the veteran interior lineman.<\/p>\n

After playing in 17 games with the Steelers in 2023, it became tougher for Seumalo to stay physically in the lineup over the last two seasons. He missed four games in 2024 and three games in 2025, and there were many other games where he practiced minimally or not at all before gutting through an ailment on gameday. A lingering pectoral injury was frequently the cause of him missing time in 2025.<\/p>\n

Before his time in Pittsburgh, Seumalo spent seven seasons with the Eagles, the final five as a primary starter, including during the Eagle\u2019s Super Bowl LII win at the end of the 2018 season.<\/p>\n

With Seumalo moving on, the Steelers will now have an extremely young offensive line, with 2023 draft pick Jones and 2024 draft picks Troy Fautanu<\/a>, Zach Frazier<\/a> and Mason McCormick<\/a> making up the bulk of the unit moving forward.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They do have one internal option to replace Seumalo, in former seventh-round pick Spencer Anderson<\/a>, who played well in extensive work as the team\u2019s sixth offensive lineman in 2025.<\/p>\n

The Steelers made big moves to address the future of their wide receiver and cornerback positions on Monday, which combined with Seumalo\u2019s departure, should move left guard up the needs board for Omar Khan moving forward this offseason.<\/p>\n
