And in turn, those moves &#8212; and in some cases, non-moves &#8212; have affected how the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/draft\/news\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2026 NFL draft<\/a> might unfold. For example, the Chiefs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/48153654\/source-super-bowl-mvp-kenneth-walker-agrees-sign-ch\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">signing<\/a> running back <a data-player-guid=\"c0a76b7f-7b5d-be73-5e81-258439651478\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/4567048\/kenneth-walker\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kenneth Walker III<\/a> means they probably won&#8217;t target <a data-player-guid=\"56491a70-2fa6-3f66-9731-4167ecbeb252\" href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/player\/_\/id\/4870808\/jeremiyah-love\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jeremiyah Love<\/a> at No. 9.<\/p>\n<p>So let&#8217;s sort through the shifting team needs, prospect targets and potential strategies of franchises slated to pick in the top 10 of April&#8217;s first round, basing our predictions off all the moves we&#8217;ve seen so far. Keep in mind that plenty of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/nfl-free-agency\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">free agent signings<\/a> still lie ahead as the new league year begins Wednesday. Look at this as snap reactions to the free agency frenzy as we start to get a clearer picture of what might happen on April 23 in Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a crack at how signings, trades, cuts and departures might have an impact on each team picking in the No. 1 through No. 10 positions &#8212; and the prospect who makes the most sense to fill roster holes. Mendoza will be the No. 1 selection and provides the Raiders a beacon of hope around whom to build their franchise going forward. He&#8217;s an accurate, strong-armed, big-bodied quarterback who met the mark at every challenge of Indiana&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/story\/_\/id\/47661346\/how-indiana-won-college-football-national-championship\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">national championship run<\/a>. The Raiders fortified the center position in front of their soon-to-be rookie QB with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/48154652\/sources-raiders-tyler-linderbaum-reach-3-year-81m-deal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">three-year, $81 million deal<\/a> for <a data-player-guid=\"4dc51a6c-8f23-5c8a-2559-96cec58d5a8a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/4360499\/tyler-linderbaum\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tyler Linderbaum<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"floatleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1773104419_181_nyj.png\" width=\"31\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a data-player-guid=\"e2c3077d-b7fd-3f28-b734-c46f5c97855f\" href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/player\/_\/id\/4685248\/david-bailey\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">David Bailey<\/a>, Edge, Texas Tech<\/p>\n<p>The Jets have maximized their cap space so far, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/48152286\/sources-dolphins-trade-minkah-fitzpatrick-jets\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">trading<\/a> for safety <a data-player-guid=\"5830595f-a479-c804-6cbb-fbc86b9a9350\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/3925345\/minkah-fitzpatrick\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Minkah Fitzpatrick<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/48154354\/jets-overhaul-defense-add-lb-davis-des-ossai-enagbare\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">signing<\/a> underrated edge rusher <a data-player-guid=\"79066c5e-ac89-2336-0b06-5471429ded52\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/4362094\/joseph-ossai\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Joseph Ossai<\/a> to a three-year deal. They also reached deals with <a data-player-guid=\"d38a0857-9f97-e9e6-d77e-e258e2bcd943\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/4362840\/kingsley-enagbare\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kingsley Enagbare<\/a> and 37-year-old linebacker <a data-player-guid=\"87e9c42b-e44f-e088-fce0-cae06ba20349\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/14958\/demario-davis\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Demario Davis<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But the work is far from done to fix a weak pass rush, which still needs young talent. No FBS player had more sacks in 2025 than Bailey (14.5), who was a dominant force during his lone season at Texas Tech. He forced a total of eight fumbles over the past two seasons and is one of the most violent disruptors in the class.<\/p>\n<p>Editor&#8217;s Picks<\/p>\n<p>2 Related<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"floatleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1773104419_959_ari.png&#038;h=110&#038;w=110.png\" width=\"31\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a data-player-guid=\"1fee5fb1-9510-305d-abe2-a522d3ba5ccb\" href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/player\/_\/id\/4950400\/arvell-reese\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Arvell Reese<\/a>, Edge, Ohio State<\/p>\n<p>The Cardinals could certainly address the offensive line at this pick, as right tackle is a primary need with <a data-player-guid=\"06fad799-6dab-3b2f-9b8f-1ed6f002b97a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/player\/_\/id\/5141717\/jonah-williams\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jonah Williams<\/a> and <a data-player-guid=\"532a97e5-d25b-bfec-3705-20b3ac4c200c\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/15035\/kelvin-beachum\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kelvin Beachum<\/a> still out there as free agents. But when picking this high, it&#8217;s a reminder that the best way to rebuild a roster and sustain success is by being disciplined in drafting for value. Reese, who has as much upside as any defensive player in this class, would give Arizona a building block in its front seven.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"floatleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1773104420_130_ten.png&#038;h=110&#038;w=110.png\" width=\"31\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a data-player-guid=\"58f8add5-078d-3663-9249-0f48f77ce044\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/player\/_\/id\/4871023\/carnell-tate\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Carnell Tate<\/a>, WR, Ohio State<\/p>\n<p>Much of this offseason for Tennessee will be dedicated to improving the supporting cast around second-year quarterback <a data-player-guid=\"9f4e87b5-5da8-38c0-9951-e3496b55b3c8\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/4688380\/cam-ward\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cam Ward<\/a>. Signing slot receiver <a data-player-guid=\"8dc02010-f5af-f9d0-a382-58bd2200ae8d\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/4569587\/wandale-robinson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wan&#8217;Dale Robinson<\/a> was a good start, but adding Tate would further that commitment. He is a sure-handed, nuanced and detailed route runner who averaged over 17 yards per reception during his final college season. Tate is among the most pro-ready prospects and would carve out a significant role in Tennessee from the jump.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"floatleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1773104420_618_nyg.png&#038;h=110&#038;w=110.png\" width=\"31\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a data-player-guid=\"12c8597c-e9ff-36ba-a51a-61c91d87abf7\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/player\/_\/id\/4870706\/caleb-downs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Caleb Downs<\/a>, S, Ohio State<\/p>\n<p>A busy start to free agency for the Giants included inking former Bears linebacker <a data-player-guid=\"68afef68-178d-4558-d94f-4c2b6ac7b013\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/3929950\/tremaine-edmunds\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tremaine Edmunds<\/a> to a three-year deal. This pick for me ultimately came down to Downs and his college teammate <a data-player-guid=\"34317f06-1e97-3466-9be9-3186599b2d87\" href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/player\/_\/id\/5081807\/sonny-styles\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sonny Styles<\/a>, but adding Edmunds reduced the need for a linebacker at this spot. Downs&#8217; three-year run in college, handling all sorts of responsibilities and communication, reinforces why his upside could be so significant for New York&#8217;s defense.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"floatleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1773104421_874_cle.png&#038;h=110&#038;w=110.png\" width=\"31\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a data-player-guid=\"da8b73dd-ac91-3476-871e-69f1e9a97a0b\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/player\/_\/id\/4870914\/francis-mauigoa\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Francis Mauigoa<\/a>, OT, Miami<\/p>\n<p>The Browns <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/48080683\/texans-trade-starting-rt-tytus-howard-browns-source-says\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">traded<\/a> for <a data-player-guid=\"d4855f25-7c2b-05da-3b90-539c865a3bc4\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/3131498\/tytus-howard\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tytus Howard<\/a>, which might serve as a deterrent to drafting Mauigoa. Howard&#8217;s best position is right tackle, where Mauigoa played throughout his career at Miami.<\/p>\n<p>With that said, the Browns have won eight games over the past two seasons and clearly know their offensive line needs work &#8212; as evidenced by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/48155267\/browns-bolster-o-line-reach-deal-guard-zion-johnson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">three-year, $49.5 million deal<\/a> for guard <a data-player-guid=\"54300f3d-7ea5-38ac-94fe-73f1e1b59c20\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/player\/_\/id\/5141488\/zion-johnson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zion Johnson<\/a>. I&#8217;d still advocate for adding Mauigoa, who is one of the steadiest players in the class, and figuring out the offensive line construction later.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"floatleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1773104422_93_wsh.png&#038;h=110&#038;w=110.png\" width=\"31\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a data-player-guid=\"56491a70-2fa6-3f66-9731-4167ecbeb252\" href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/player\/_\/id\/4870808\/jeremiyah-love\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jeremiyah Love<\/a>, RB, Notre Dame<\/p>\n<p>The Commanders <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/48155924\/commanders-land-odafe-oweh-4-year-100m-deal-agents-say\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">landed<\/a> one of the best free agent pass rushers in <a data-player-guid=\"3abbb66c-4907-9b5f-08cd-19b5d7914c6e\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/4361422\/odafe-oweh\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Odafe Oweh<\/a>, which checks the box for their most pressing need and enables general manager Adam Peters to take <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/draft2026\/story\/_\/id\/46149416\/2026-nfl-draft-rankings-top-prospects-position\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">my No. 2 prospect<\/a> in this class. We can debate the merits of taking a running back early in perpetuity, but Love is a dynamic, dual-threat player who would instantly supercharge what was a middle-of-road backfield last season. Teaming up Love with <a data-player-guid=\"f03f3238-b035-6f0e-5844-1529ca021c3a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/4426348\/jayden-daniels\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jayden Daniels<\/a> could be a lot of fun.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\" lazyload lazyload\"\/>play<\/p>\n<p>1:22<\/p>\n<p>Miller: &#8216;Jeremiyah Love is the best football player in this class&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"contentItem__subhead\">Matt Miller and Ben Solak discuss what makes Jeremiyah Love the best football player in the 2026 NFL draft class.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"floatleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1773104422_94_no.png&#038;h=110&#038;w=110.png\" width=\"31\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a data-player-guid=\"34317f06-1e97-3466-9be9-3186599b2d87\" href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/player\/_\/id\/5081807\/sonny-styles\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sonny Styles<\/a>, LB, Ohio State<\/p>\n<p>Longtime starter <a data-player-guid=\"87e9c42b-e44f-e088-fce0-cae06ba20349\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/14958\/demario-davis\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Demario Davis<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/48154354\/jets-overhaul-defense-add-lb-davis-des-ossai-enagbare\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reunited<\/a> with the Jets in free agency, and his reliability and durability will be missed in New Orleans. He started at least 16 games in all of his eight seasons with the Saints, who can now turn to one of the most distinctive players in the class in Styles. The safety-turned-linebacker had the entire football world buzzing with his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/48048520\/ohio-state-lb-styles-wows-435-inch-vertical-nfl-combine\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">combine performance<\/a>, but he&#8217;s much more than just a workout star. Styles has excellent range, a quick-trigger in the running game and strong coverage instincts.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"floatleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1773104423_888_kc.png&#038;h=110&#038;w=110.png\" width=\"31\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a data-player-guid=\"f1f80d34-d540-331e-92c3-2e1ea1647626\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/player\/_\/id\/4880124\/mansoor-delane\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mansoor Delane<\/a>, CB, LSU<\/p>\n<p>The Chiefs&#8217; secondary will be reshaped in 2026, as the team&#8217;s top two cornerbacks (<a data-player-guid=\"10d8ec6d-33ff-13b8-d189-180c3462083e\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/4426405\/trent-mcduffie\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Trent McDuffie<\/a> and <a data-player-guid=\"a88bf7bc-7ed7-3ab8-8685-1a2924c798a0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/player\/_\/id\/5126538\/jaylen-watson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jaylen Watson<\/a>) are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/48153797\/rams-add-another-chiefs-cb-jaylen-watson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">now with the Rams<\/a>. Delane had an excellent 2025 season at LSU, showcasing strong technique in man coverage and timing on pass breakup opportunities.
