On the first day of the NFL’s legal tampering period, former Washington Huskies<\/a> star Cade Otton decided not to move, and he’ll be staying with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a three-year deal.<\/p>\n

If he hit the open market, Otton was widely expected to be one of the most sought-after players at the position, but general manager Jason Licht moved quickly to bring back the former fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft, who has been a reliable target for quarterback Baker Mayfield throughout his career.<\/p>\n

Last season, Otton hauled in 59 catches for 572 yards and a touchdown as the Buccaneers dealt with a rash of injuries at wide receiver, to build on an impressive 2024 campaign where he tallied 59 receptions for 600 yards and 4 scores.<\/p>\n

In his career, Otton has compiled 207 catches for 2,018 yards and 11 touchdowns while also establishing a reputation as a strong in-line blocker, which has made him a mainstay on Tampa Bay’s offense.<\/p>\n

“He plays a lot of snaps, but he continues to get better,” Buccaneers tight ends coach Justin Peelle<\/a> told team staff writer Brianna Dix ahead of the 2025 season. “He has looked the best that I have seen him, and he looks a lot better right now than he did last year, just because he is more confident in what we are doing, and he is playing faster\u2026The ball just finds him.”<\/p>\n
