{"id":803941,"date":"2026-03-10T06:50:19","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T06:50:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/803941\/"},"modified":"2026-03-10T06:50:19","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T06:50:19","slug":"kansas-city-chiefs-bolster-safety-room-sign-alohi-gilman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/803941\/","title":{"rendered":"Kansas City Chiefs bolster safety room, sign Alohi Gilman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As Bryan Cook departs the Kansas City Chiefs to <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kansascity.com\/sports\/nfl\/kansas-city-chiefs\/article314986220.html\">join the Cincinnati Bengals<\/a>, the Chiefs have added another safety.<\/p>\n<p>Kansas City has come to terms with now-former Baltimore Ravens safety Alohi Gilman, a source confirmed to The Star. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MikeGarafolo\/status\/2031201667421511816?s=20\">NFL Network<\/a>, citing Gilman\u2019s agency, said it\u2019s a three-year deal for $24.75 million, including $15 million guaranteed.<\/p>\n<p>Gilman, 28, first entered the league as a 2020 sixth-round pick out of Notre Dame with the Los Angeles Chargers. Joe Sargent                                                                            Getty Images                                                                                        <\/p>\n<p>Gilman brings the positional versatility defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo likes, and he projects as a direct replacement for Cook.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/pff.com\/\">Pro Football Focus<\/a>, Cook lined up 55.8% of the time at free safety, 30.1% in the box and 11.9% in the slot.
