Per Over the Cap\u2019s Jason Fitzgerald,<\/a> Dean\u2019s deal includes $12 million guaranteed in the form of a signing bonus. He has an additional $4 million roster bonus due on the third day of the 2027 league year.<\/p>\n Per Fitzgerald\u2019s numbers, Dean carries a modest $5.5 million first year cap charge. That spikes to $16 million for the 2027 season and $15.25 million for the final year, though an increasing salary cap will make those numbers feel smaller over time.<\/p>\n Still, this deal gives Pittsburgh an \u201cescape hatch\u201d should Dean struggle in 2026. The Steelers can save $8 million in cap space by cutting Dean before next year\u2019s roster bonus, though they\u2019ll also incur an $8 million dead money charge.
