Life before NIL was very good to Georgia. The Bulldogs dominated the college football recruiting scene and never had to worry about schools coming in and stealing their recruits with larger NIL offers.<\/p>\n
Nowadays that threat exists and has led to multiple high level recruits choosing schools they never would have before NIL. Just look at five-star quarterback Jared Curtis for example who flipped to Vanderbilt, in the pre-NIL era that never would\u2019ve happened and he would be in Athens right now.<\/p>\n
Last week President Donald Trump welcomed many of the top college football administrators and voices of the game together to discuss NIL. And in those discussions President Trump made it clear that he wants to give Georgia their pre-NIL advantage back.<\/p>\n

NIL is a good thing, at least in the way it was meant to be used. It was supposed to give players the opportunity to make a little money during their college days, but it has quickly turned into \u201cpay to play\u201d which was never the intent.<\/p>\n
During President Trump\u2019s meeting he made it clear that something needs to change. In fact, he said he wants to sign an executive order that would send college football back to the pre-NIL era<\/a>.<\/p>\n This would be the best thing possible for Georgia. If this happened then recruiting would shift back to on field success and a programs ability (or lack thereof) of getting players to the NFL. Georgia can stand against anyone when looking at those metrics, so they once again would dominate the recruiting world if President Trump makes these changes.<\/p>\n
