Johnston, 34, previously played with the Steelers in 2024, but suffered a season-ending injury and was later released by the team ahead of the 2025 season.<\/p>\n Andy Backstrom<\/p>\n Former Chicago Bears cornerback Nahshon Wright is signing with the New York Jets on a one-year, $5.5 million max deal, per NFL Network\u2019s Ian Rapoport<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Jets didn\u2019t pick off a single pass last season. Wright alone recorded five interceptions during the 2025 campaign. He also forced two fumbles and made the Pro Bowl.<\/p>\n Andy Backstrom<\/p>\n Former Denver Broncos safety P.J. Locke is signing with the Dallas Cowboys on a one-year deal worth $5 million, according to NFL Network\u2019s Ian Rapoport<\/a>.<\/p>\n Locke spent six seasons with the Broncos, playing in 90 games and making 26 starts along the way.<\/p>\n This past season, he saw his defensive snap count decline, but he managed to make an impact in the playoffs. He recorded an interception and a forced fumble during Denver\u2019s divisional-round win over the Buffalo Bills.<\/p>\n Andy Backstrom<\/p>\n Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs is signing with the New England Patriots, according to <\/a>multiple reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n Doubs has agreed to a four-year deal worth $80 million, ESPN\u2019s Jeremy Fowler reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n Doubs has yet to record a 1,000-yard receiving season but logged 21 touchdown grabs over four years with the Packers.<\/p>\n Read more here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Kari Anderson<\/p>\n The Las Vegas Raiders are sending quarterback Geno Smith to the New York Jets, per multiple reports. The Jets also get a 2026 seventh-round pick in the transaction, while the Raiders get a 2026 sixth-round pick in return.<\/p>\n The Raiders had reportedly planned to release<\/a> Smith during the offseason, but opt to trade him instead.<\/p>\n Chris Cwik<\/p>\n The Houston Texans are picking up some more protection for quarterback C.J. Stroud. The team reportedly agreed to a two-year, $20 million deal with former Indianapolis Colts offensive lineman Braden Smith on Tuesday, per NFL Network.<\/p>\n The deal can be worth a maximum of $25 million. Smith played guard in college, but has mostly played tackle in the NFL.<\/p>\n The 29-year-old Smith has missed games here and there due to injury, but has started in every game in which he\u2019s played since the 2019 NFL season.<\/p>\n Chris Cwik<\/p>\n The Houston Texans are rewarding kicker Ka\u2019imi Fairbairn after he turned in an excellent season in 2025. The team reportedly signed the kicker to a two-year, $13 million extension Tuesday, making him the highest paid kicker in the NFL, per NFL Network.<\/p>\n Fairbairn is coming off a season in which he made a league-high 44 field goals on a league-high 48 attempts.<\/p>\n The 32-year-old has been a consistent presence in Houston since the 2017 NFL season. While he\u2019s never made the Pro Bowl, Fairbairn has led the NFL in field goals made in two separate seasons.<\/p>\n Chris Cwik<\/p>\n The Miami Dolphins reportedly found their replacement for veteran Jason Sanders on Tuesday. The team reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with Zane Gonzalez days after cutting Sanders, per ESPN.<\/p>\n Gonzalez, 30, played in nine games with the Atlanta Falcons in 2025. He went 19-for-22 on field-goal attempts.<\/p>\n Gonzalez has bounced around to five different franchises over his career. He\u2019s battled injuries at times, though turned in an impressive run with the Falcons at the end of the 2025 season.<\/p>\n Andy Backstrom<\/p>\n Former Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco is signing with the Detroit Lions, according to NFL Network\u2019s Tom Pelissero<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Lions shipped off David Montgomery to the Houston Texans<\/a>, opening up a spot in a backfield that will still feature Jahmyr Gibbs. That\u2019s where Pacheco will come into play.<\/p>\n He\u2019ll say goodbye to a Chiefs squad that\u2019s reportedly signing former Seattle Seahawks back, and reigning Super Bowl MVP, Kenneth Walker III<\/a>.<\/p>\n Pacheco has dealt with injury issues lately but began his Chiefs career with back-to-back seasons averaging at least 4.6 yards per carry. In 2023, he piled up 1,179 scrimmage yards and nine total touchdowns.<\/p>\n Chris Cwik<\/p>\n Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson is brining a familiar name to his new team. The Bears reportedly agreed to a deal with wideout and kick returner Kalif Raymond on Tuesday, per NFL Network.<\/p>\n Raymond, 31, is a contributor in the passing game, but has excelled more as a return man.<\/p>\n He\u2019s been a second-team All-Pro team member twice as a punt returner, and will almost certainly fill that void with the Bears.<\/p>\n Sean Leahy<\/p>\n The 29-year-old Knox will enter his eighth NFL season in 2026, all with the Bills. The third-round draft pick in 2019 played all 17 games last season, catching 36 passes for 417 yards and four touchdowns.<\/p>\n Andy Backstrom<\/p>\n Former New York Giants safety Dane Belton is signing a one-year, $4 million deal with the New York Jets, according to NFL Network\u2019s Tom Pelissero<\/a>.<\/p>\n With incentives, Belton will reportedly be able to make up to $6 million.<\/p>\n The Giants selected Belton in the fourth round of the 2022 draft out of Iowa. He scattered 22 starts across the past four seasons, including nine during the 2025 campaign.<\/p>\n Last season, he played a career-high 705 defensive snaps, per PFF, and registered 120 total tackles, the second most on the team. He also forced three fumbles and tallied the sixth interception of his career.<\/p>\n Andy Backstrom<\/p>\n The Green Bay Packers are releasing cornerback Nate Hobbs, according to NFL Network\u2019s Tom Pelissero<\/a>.<\/p>\n Just a year ago, the Packers inked Hobbs to a four-year, $48 million contract after he spent the 2021-24 seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders.<\/p>\n The Illinois product began his Packers stint as a starter before losing that job and watching his snap count decline significantly.<\/p>\n He was targeted 25 times during the 2025 campaign and gave up 17 grabs for 239 yards and 2 touchdowns, according to PFF.<\/p>\n Andy Backstrom<\/p>\n The Carolina Panthers made a splash in free agency on Monday, reportedly signing highly coveted edge rusher Jaelan Phillips<\/a> and All-Pro linebacker Devin Lloyd<\/a>.<\/p>\n They began Tuesday with much quieter moves, albeit ones that will help fortify their depth on the defensive side of the ball.<\/p>\n Carolina re-signed defensive end LaBryan Ray and cornerback Robert Rochell.<\/p>\n Notably, Ray started nine games for the Panthers two seasons ago \u2014 piling up 41 total tackles in his 16 appearances that year \u2014 before serving as a rotational piece during the 2025 campaign.<\/p>\n Andy Backstrom<\/p>\n Former Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Greg Newsome II has agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $10 million with the New York Giants, according to ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter<\/a>.<\/p>\n Newsome is a former first-round pick. The Cleveland Browns selected him 26th overall out of Northwestern in 2021.<\/p>\n He spent the first four-plus seasons of his NFL career with the Browns before they traded him midseason last year to Jacksonville<\/a>.<\/p>\n Chris Cwik<\/p>\n The Buffalo Bills are restructuring their contract with kicker Tyler Bass.<\/p>\n After missing last season with an injury, Bass will make less money in 2026. But his revised deal contains incentives that could bump his pay back up.<\/p>\n Prior to the injury, Bass was among the more reliable kickers on one of the NFL\u2019s best offenses.<\/p>\n Chris Cwik<\/p>\n The Green Bay Packers are strengthening their defense early in free agency. He developed into a consistent starter with the team before staring just two games in Los Angeles last season.<\/p>\n Mon, March 9, 2026 at 9:35 PM PDT<\/p>\n Yahoo Sports Staff<\/p>\n The former first-round pick is headed to New England on a 3-year deal.<\/p>\n Jason Owens<\/p>\n The Carolina Panthers have reached terms with one of the best defenders in free agency<\/a>.<\/p>\n Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz<\/a>, All-Pro linebacker Devin Lloyd is signing a three-year, $45 million deal to leave the Jacksonville Jaguars and join the Panthers.<\/p>\n Lloyd will join the Panthers after completing his four-year rookie contract with the Jaguars. He was named to his first Pro Bowl and named second-team All-Pro after the 2025 season.<\/p>\n The Jaguars had the option of extending Lloyd\u2019s rookie contract following the 2024 season, but declined.
