Green Bay Packers LB Quay Walker<\/p>\n
Out of all 32 teams in the NFL, none may have lost more to free agency thus far than the Green Bay Packers<\/a>. Through two days, the Packers have lost eight players.<\/p>\n Despite quarterback Malik Willis and wide receiver Romeo Doubs being two of the top free agents during this cycle, most of the rest came on the defensive side of the ball.<\/p>\n That included linebacker Quay Walker, who agreed to a three-year, $40.5 million deal with the Las Vegas Raiders<\/a>.<\/p>\n The key term in that sentence, however, is \u201cagreed to,\u201d as the start of the league year isn\u2019t official until March 11. The two parties agreed to terms on the first day of the legal tampering period on March 9.<\/p>\n But as has already been seen, anything can happen leading up to when deals become official.<\/p>\n With the Baltimore Ravens<\/a> reneging on a trade with the Raiders for defensive end Maxx Crosby the night before, nothing is certain in Las Vegas right now.<\/p>\n Raiders Cap Situation Could Impact Quay Walker Deal<\/p>\n Walker spent the last four seasons in Green Bay after being drafted in the first round, No. 22 overall in 2022. However, the linebacker never quite lived up to his potential, and the Packers were unwilling to offer anything close to what the Raiders reportedly put on the table. On March 10 at 8 p.m. ET, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported<\/a> that the Ravens had \u201cbacked out\u201d of a trade for Crosby that would have sent two first-round picks to Las Vegas. The effects of that development could be quite damaging for the Raiders.<\/p>\n The Raiders have already agreed to terms with eight free agents, committing over $280 million in new deals. Not all of that will count toward the 2026 salary cap, but with the Ravens nixing the Crosby trade, the Raiders suddenly lost roughly $30 million in expected cap space, according to Spotrac.<\/p>\n The #Raiders<\/a> just lost $30M of cap space.<\/p>\n \u201cThis puts the Raiders in an incredibly difficult situation,\u201d SI\u2019s Albert Breer said<\/a>. \u201cThey lose the picks, they have a bunch of deals to be finalized tomorrow done under the assumption Maxx Crosby was gone, and now they may have to turn around and trade him again with the medical question hovering.\u201d<\/p>\n Would Packers Be Back In On Quay Walker?<\/p>\n According to Schultz, the Raiders are currently in scramble mode just hours before deals can officially be signed.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Raiders are not happy at all. And they are going through how to proceed with this as we speak. No decisions have been made.\u201d<\/p>\n As for Walker and the other free agents the Raiders agreed to terms with, they appear to be in the dark about the situation.<\/p>\n \u201cPlayers the Raiders have agreed to terms with have not been told anything. Those deals can be signed tomorrow at 4 p.m. ET,\u201d Schultz added.<\/p>\n Few things on Maxx Crosby, per sources: <\/p>\n \u2022 The #Cowboys<\/a> don\u2019t plan on engaging again. They did the trade for Rashan Gary and are ready to welcome him to Dallas. <\/p>\n \u2022 Trey Hendrickson to Baltimore is going to be one to watch tomorrow.<\/p>\n \u2022 The Raiders are not happy at all. And\u2026 https:\/\/t.co\/YW3o1KE8A8<\/a>\n<\/p>\n \u2014 Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) March 11, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n This will be a situation to keep an eye on throughout the day Wednesday, as the collapsed Crosby trade has the potential to shift several agreements across the league.<\/p>\n Crosby carries a $35.7 million cap hit that accounts for nearly 12% of the Raiders\u2019 cap space.
