The Eagles took a little bit to get going, but on Tuesday evening started making several moves. After agreeing to terms with CB Tariq Woolen<\/a>, they moved on to tight end and signed two \u2014 they\u2019re bringing back Grant Calcaterra and also agreed to terms with Johnny Mundt, both on one-year deals.<\/p>\n

The Eagles have developed trust with Calcaterra over the four years he\u2019s been in Philly. He earned the TE2 spot behind Dallas Goedert, and was a reliable target for Jalen Hurts. Jeff McLane reported<\/a> that the team still believes that Calcaterra can thrive as a receiving tight end, but he did struggle as a blocker, so that part of his game will need to develop.<\/p>\n

As for Mundt, he\u2019s a nine year veteran who spent time with the Rams, Vikings, and then the Jaguars in 2025. He\u2019s been able to stay relatively healthy throughout his career, and while he doesn\u2019t have a big stat line, he\u2019ll bring the experience as a blocker that the Eagles need. He overlapped with new OC Sean Mannion in Minnesota, and will add a lot of value to the new scheme they\u2019ll be running in Philly.<\/p>\n

These two signings could signal that Dallas Goedert is gone this offseason<\/a>, but neither Calcaterra nor Mundt fill the offensive role he\u2019ll leave, and bringing him back could complete the room. The Eagles could then draft a young TE to develop, and re-assess the group next offseason.<\/p>\n
