Former Denver Broncos<\/a> safety P.J. Locke penned an emotional goodbye to Broncos<\/a> Country after agreeing to terms with the Dallas Cowboys<\/a> for the 2026 NFL season on Tuesday. Locke’s time in Denver began in 2019, and continued through 2025.<\/p>\n

“Broncos Country, For the past 7 years you guys have made Denver feel like home for my family and I,” Locke wrote on Twitter\/X. “Things didn\u2019t work out business wise, but just know you guys hold a very very special place in my heart that I can\u2019t put into words. From the coaches, front office, friends, teammates and all the other relationships that were built. It\u2019s hard moving on from that for sure, Trust me. We love you guys and wish the best of luck to everyone.”<\/p>\n

In six years, Locke played in 90 games, starting 26 of them. Locke recorded 174 total tackles (110 solo, 64 combined), forced five fumbles, one interception and 11 pass deflections. Locke’s departure leaves an unexpected hole in the backup safety slot, which the Broncos<\/a> could address later in the offseason, or through the NFL draft.
