The Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a> were not expected to make many big moves during free agency, and so far, those expectations have panned out.<\/p>\n

Their two most in-demand free agents, Travis Etienne and Devin Lloyd, both signed with other teams, while general manager James Gladstone re-signed several other key playmakers.<\/p>\n

Free agency has yet to officially begin, but with Jacksonville’s tight salary cap situation<\/a>, it still seems unlikely that the Jaguars<\/a> will make any major moves. There are free agents Gladstone can pursue, of course, but chances are, the biggest additions to the Jags’ roster will come in the draft.<\/p>\n

Somehow, though, Pro Football Focus (PFF) has named Jacksonville<\/a> one of their losers from the legal tampering period. PFF writer Mason Cameron argued that the Jaguars made the list due to their significant losses in Etienne and Lloyd, without signing new free agents to replace them. Though he acknowledged the existence of Bhayshul Tuten and LeQuint Allen, Cameron was still overall unimpressed.<\/p>\n

While re-signing cornerback Montaric Brown is a positive, given his level of play this past season, the price could be considered steep compared to market projections. Some reports have indicated the Jaguars are willing to trade wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., just one season removed from his phenomenal rookie campaign, too. This Jaguars roster looks less formidable compared to where it stood a season ago.<\/p>\n

It seems strange to claim that the Jaguars’ roster is less formidable, given that only two players have been lost. Yes, Lloyd and Etienne both had incredibly good seasons in 2025, but there were numerous other stars who will be returning. Lloyd and Etienne made a big impact, but they did not single-handedly win the AFC South for the Jags, and fans have plenty of reason to continue to feel optimistic.<\/p>\n
