Oddly, the Chicago Bears<\/a> haven’t been big players in free agency, as Ben Johnson enters his second offseason with the NFC North franchise.<\/p>\n

Having largely been bystanders as free agency has rolled on, the Bears have seen opportunities to improve with quality free-agent additions come and go.<\/p>\n

Yes, there are still some decent players out there, but none are true difference-makers.<\/p>\n

Well, except one.<\/p>\n

And Sports Illustrated’s\u00a0Mike Kadlick thinks if the Bears went after this one player, it would be a slam dunk. And that’s Maxx Crosby.<\/p>\n

“The Bears reportedly \u201cmonitored the situation\u201d the first time around on Crosby, but ultimately weren\u2019t major players and didn\u2019t enter the bidding war between the Raiders<\/a> and Cowboys<\/a>,” Kadlick wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“However, circumstances have changed, and perhaps Chicago\u2019s stance has as well. Pairing Crosby with Montez Sweat off the edge would be a slam dunk for general manager Ryan Poles.”<\/p>\n

Should Bears sign Crosby?<\/p>\n

Well, they should at least circle back to it, right?<\/p>\n

We know that the asking price has dropped considerably, given the fact that Maxx failed his physical with the Ravens<\/a>, and now the star pass rusher might be available for maybe just a first-round pick and a later pick as well.<\/p>\n

If that is the case, the Bears, as Kadlick states, should be all over it.<\/p>\n

We aren’t sure if the Cowboys are interested. Everything we’ve seen says no, but you never know.<\/p>\n

So, the Bears could turbocharge their offseason by going after Crosby.<\/p>\n

But they got to call first.<\/p>\n
