As of Wednesday afternoon, they had the second-best odds of signing Murray at Polymarket, behind only the Minnesota Vikings.

🚨JUST IN: The Pittsburgh #Steelers have the second-best odds to SIGN free agent star quarterback Kyler Murray, according to Polymarket.

Kyler is 28 years old, Pro Bowler, and the former first overall pick.

Murray is extremely talented & would be an electric fit in Pittsburgh. pic.twitter.com/SXIaU2SSX2

— MLFootball (@MLFootball) March 11, 2026

The Steelers are still awaiting a decision from Aaron Rodgers, who has yet to decide if or where he wants to play next season. He recently implied on “The Pat McAfee Show” that he wants to return to Pittsburgh after enjoying his time there last season, but the two sides don’t appear close to a deal at the moment.

Story continues below advertisement

The Steelers could still try to sign Murray as an insurance option in case Rodgers doesn’t come back, as their current alternatives are Will Howard and Mason Rudolph. They should probably pursue Murray regardless, as he’ll be cheaper and much younger than Rodgers.

They’ll likely have stiff competition from the Vikings, however, who are looking for a veteran after J.J.
