The Broncos\u2019 retention run isn\u2019t finished just yet.<\/p>\n
Denver agreed to a one-year deal with wide receiver Lil\u2019Jordan Humphrey on Thursday, a source confirmed to The Post.<\/p>\n
Humphrey is only the latest member of the 2025 Broncos that the club has agreed to bring back for 2026. Denver entered the offseason with 17 unrestricted and restricted free agents combined. Humphrey, the veteran and longtime Sean Payton staple, is the 12th to either sign a new contract or be tendered by the Broncos. They\u2019ve also tendered all four exclusive rights free agents.<\/p>\n
Humphrey\u2019s deal, a source said, is for the league-minimum $1.3 million.<\/p>\n
A year ago, Humphrey signed with the New York Giants as a free agent in search of a fresh start after being moved up and down between Denver\u2019s active roster and practice squad. Even that didn\u2019t keep him from eventually ending up back with the Broncos. He rejoined the team midseason and was immediately back into Denver\u2019s wide receiver rotation.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know the player really well,\u201d Payton said after Humphrey was back on the roster last fall. \u201cOne of his strengths is his football I.Q. He can play a lot of different spots and I think it was we had that roster availability. \u2026 You know exactly what you\u2019re getting from him and that\u2019s a real good trait to have as a player. Then you can put him in these places where he could excel.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was unusual seeing him on the opponent\u2019s sideline (against the Giants), but we\u2019re glad to have him back.\u201d<\/p>\n
Humphrey played in seven regular-season games for Denver and finished with nine catches for 101 yards and a touchdown. He also played in both postseason games. The 27-year-old receiver dropped a wide-open touchdown in the divisional round against Buffalo but bounced back and caught one later in Denver\u2019s wild, 33-30 overtime win<\/a>.<\/p>\n
