As Schultz noted, Bell had a significant role in Seattle last year before his departure in late December.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSources: The #Seahawks are signing S and special teamer D\u2019Anthony Bell to a one-year deal,\u201d Schultz reported. \u201cBell was with the Super Bowl champs for 14 games last season before finishing the year in Carolina. He\u2019s now back with the Seahawks for 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>D\u2019Anthony Bell Played Important Role in Seattle<\/p>\n<p>Bell played the first three seasons of his NFL career with the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" title=\"Cleveland Browns\" href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/sports\/nfl\/cleveland-browns\/\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"190305\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cleveland Browns<\/a> before joining the Seahawks last season. He appeared in 14 games, making 15 total tackles with a half-sack. He was a core special teams player, appearing in 251 total special teams snaps.<\/p>\n<p>Though Bell had to watch the Seahawks make a run to a Super Bowl win, he did get some light playoff experience after being waived by Seattle. He was picked up by the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/sports\/nfl\/carolina-panthers\/\" title=\"Panthers\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"190320\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Panthers<\/a> and dressed for the team\u2019s wild-card loss to the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" title=\"Los Angeles Rams\" href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/sports\/nfl\/los-angeles-rams\/\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"190304\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Los Angeles Rams<\/a>, though did not record a snap.<\/p>\n<p>Seahawks Have Addressed Special Teams<\/p>\n<p>The Seahawks also addressed special teams by bringing back fullback <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/nfl\/player\/brady-russell\/\" title=\"Brady Russell\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"190319\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brady Russell<\/a>, who played a regular role on the team\u2019s special teams units.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt means the world,\u201d Russell said after signing, via the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seahawks.com\/news\/2026-free-agency-seahawks-re-sign-fb-special-teams-standout-brady-russell\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">team\u2019s official website<\/a>. \u201cI was definitely hoping to stay here, we\u2019ve built something really special, and it\u2019s really cool to be a part of the initial team when Mike came in and be a part of what we\u2019ve built.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Russell had the most special teams tackles on the Seahawks last year with 14, while also proving his versatility on offense by lining up at fullback and tight end.<\/p>\n<p>He was named one of the team\u2019s captains in the Super Bowl, the team\u2019s official website added, and earned praise from head coach Mike Macdonald for his leadership.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrady, from day one, how much pride he took in his role, again, setting an example for how we want to operate here with our special teams units,\u201d Macdonald said after the team named Russell one of the captains for the game. \u201cGuys follow his lead. His energy every day is contagious. Love for his teammates, love for the game, unselfish. He\u2019s tough as nails. You could argue he\u2019s probably one of the best core four combo guys in the league.
