The Seahawks will be without the services of Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III following his departure in free agency to the Kansas City Chiefs. That\u2019s a tough blow for the team, but it wouldn\u2019t feel quite as costly if not for the injury to Zach Charobonnet in the playoffs.<\/p>\n
Charbonnet split duties at running back with Walker throughout this past season, which included most of the work near the goal line and as a third-down back. But the UCLA product is expected to still be on the mend when next season starts after his 2025 season ended with a torn ACL on Jan. 17 in the Seahawks\u2019 first playoff game.<\/p>\n
There is some encouraging news for the Seahawks when it comes to Charbonnet. General manager John Schneider told Seattle Sports\u2019 Wyman and Bob<\/a> on Thursday the outlook is \u201cvery positive\u201d when it comes to three-year pro\u2019s recovery, though he did not offer a timeline for when Charbonnet could be back.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s a true pro. He\u2019s so strong and his work ethic is outstanding,\u201d Schneider said. \u201c\u2026 The surgery went very well and the outlook\u2019s good. And I\u2019m sure he\u2019s going to attack his rehab like anything else, like he always does.\u201d<\/p>\n The Seahawks are bringing in some reinforcements to help out their backfield. The team is signing former Packers running back Emanuel Wilson to join the back field, which Schneider confirmed to Wyman and Bob.<\/p>\n Seattle\u2019s general manager also shared some praise for the job George Holani did while helping fill the void following Charbonnet\u2019s injury.<\/p>\n \u201cThe one thing that got overlooked in those last two games, and I was talking to Mike (Macdonald) about this, George, \u2026 he was awesome in the NFC championship game and he was awesome in the Super Bowl,\u201d Schneider said. \u201cHis pass protection, he made that catch (in the NFC Championship) for the first down that was a real huge play for us, and every time he goes in the game, he just performs.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe pass protection stuff was elite,\u201d Schneider added.<\/p>\n Hear the full conversation in the video at the top of this post.
