Saints head coach Kellen Moore did nothing to stop the rumors surrounding Alvin Kamara.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With talk swirling of a parting of ways or possible retirement for the star running back, Moore all but declined to comment on Kamara\u2019s status with the team.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019d like to go through that process, certainly,\u201d Moore said during a press conference on Thursday. \u201cAlvin means a lot to us. We\u2019re three days into this thing. We signed Travis [Etienne] and we\u2019ll go through that process [with Kamara]. I\u2019m not going to get into all that stuff right now. I haven\u2019t had those conversations in any ways.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moore\u2019s presser comes just days after ESPN insider Adam Schefter wrote on X<\/a> that there are \u201cquestions around the league\u201d regarding Kamara\u2019s potential to be traded.\u00a0<\/p>\n

NFL Network\u2019s Ian Rapoport speculated that Kamara could step away from the game.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s fair to say some have wondered whether or not he would walk away from the game and end up sipping a Mai Thai on the beach,\u201d Rapoport said earlier this week.<\/p>\n

The Saints have already signed Kamara\u2019s potential replacement, inking former Jaguars running back Etienne to a four-year, $52 million deal shortly after free agency kicked off this week.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kamara, who turns 31 in July, signed a two-year, $24.5 million extension in October 2024 that goes through the 2026 season.<\/p>\n

Etienne enjoyed a bounce-back 2025 season in Jacksonville, rushing for 1,107 yards and 13 total touchdowns.<\/p>\n

Kamara, a third-round pick by New Orleans in 2017, has had an excellent nine years in the NFL, making the Pro Bowl in his first five seasons, including winning AP Offensive Rookie of the Year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
