Jaxon Smith-Njigba has been tough to stop all season.<\/p>\n
The Seattle Seahawks<\/a> are moving full steam ahead on their Super Bowl defense, but are still taking time to reflect back on their historic season \u2014 and the accomplishments of star receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba<\/a>.<\/p>\n The team took to social media on Saturday to share an accomplishment from their breakout star, who already made history on the team\u2019s Super Bowl-winning season. After earning plenty of national honors, Smith-Njigba is now getting some love on a local level as well.<\/p>\n Jaxon Smith-Njigba Earns Praise from Seattle Media<\/p>\n The Seahawks took to social media<\/a> to share the results of the 91st Seattle Sports Star Awards, which shared some love for their season. The team won the \u201cSports Story Of The Year\u201d for their Super Bowl victory, while Smith-Njigba took home the \u201cMen\u2019s Sports Star Of The Year\u201d honors.<\/p>\n The Seahawks have already shared love for their star receiver earlier this offseason. The team praised him for a second consecutive season topping 1,000 yards, noting that he built on his 1,138-yard season in 2024 by racking up 1,973 yards last year.<\/p>\n \u201cEncore,\u201d the team shared in a\u00a0post on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n Smith-Njigba added another 17 receptions for 199 yards and a team-leading two touchdowns in their three postseason wins.<\/p>\n Time for Jaxon Smith-Njigba to Cash In<\/p>\n The Seahawks face a big decision on their star wide receiver, who is eligible for a contract extension. The All-Pro pass-catcher said he isn\u2019t stressing over when a deal will come together, saying he trusts the team and is focused only on returning to defend their Super Bowl title.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not really too pressed right now to get it done,\u201d\u00a0Smith-Njigba<\/a>\u00a0said. \u201cI know my time is coming, and when we get it done, it\u2019s going to be a great deal. God\u2019s timing is perfect timing. So whenever that may come, we\u2019ll be ready for it.<\/p>\n \u201cI think I deserve to be the highest paid in my position, and what I give to the game and my community. I give it my all, and I think that\u2019s worth a lot more. I would play this game for free.
