While many still view an offseason A.J. Brown trade as an “inevitability,” one NFC<\/a> contender reportedly has no more interest in getting into business with the three-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl<\/a> champ.<\/p>\n

Trade rumors have followed Brown’s name for what feels like two NFL<\/a> seasons now. But with the first week of free agency having come and gone, No. 11 remains an Eagle \u2014 at least for the time being.<\/p>\n

Brown has been pretty vocal about his misgivings with Philly’s offense and his role within it on social media. And it’s hard to imagine that the franchise can survive another year of distractions on that side of the ball if they still have championship aspirations.<\/p>\n

According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, two teams were very much interested in making a potential trade for the disgruntled star wideout. However, one (the Los Angeles Rams<\/a>) has decided to back out.<\/p>\n

“On Friday,\u00a0The Athletic\u00a0reported that the Eagles had ‘serious conversations’ about a trade for A.J. Brown with the Rams and the Patriots,” Florio wrote<\/a>. “As we understand it, however, the Rams tapped out of the talks.”<\/p>\n

“The Patriots remain in play, despite the recent addition of former Packers receiver Romeo Doubs. One source predicts that the Patriots will be the eventual destination,” he added. “Another source explained that the Eagles will be careening toward a potential cap mess in 2027, if they keep Brown through 2026.”<\/p>\n

PFT speculates that it’s more a matter of “when” than “if” when it comes to an A.J. Brown deal<\/a> \u2014 it just depends on whether it comes before June 1 or after.<\/p>\n

Eagles continue to have ‘conversations’ about potential Brown trades<\/p>\n

On yesterday’s episode of “The Insiders,” the NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported<\/a> that the Eagles continue to work towards finding a trade partner for Brown, but nothing has come together to this point.<\/p>\n

“My understanding \u2014 talking to sources informed with the talks between the Eagles and other teams \u2014 is they’ve had momentum toward deals in recent weeks and days and over this period of negotiating,” Garafolo said<\/a> Saturday. “They haven’t completed those trades. They haven’t resulted in agreement on a trade for various reasons. They just haven’t come together.”<\/p>\n

When Brown is locked in he can be a top-five wideout in the NFL and make a huge difference for a team. Now it’s just a matter of which one he’ll be suiting up for by the time Week 1 rolls around.<\/p>\n
