The San Francisco 49ers<\/a> made one of the biggest splashes to start the new league year when they signed former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans to a three-year deal.<\/a><\/p>\n While many people outside of the building have loved the deal, we’ve only heard from a few members of the 49ers<\/a> organization since the signing. One of those we did hear from is 49ers linebacker Fred Warner, who discusses the signing on his podcast.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cI think he fits right in,” Warner said. “I specifically remember meeting him, like, officially, for the first time at the Pro Bowl a couple of years back. He was there and chopping it up with me and other guys there, who were with the 49ers, and he just seemed like our kind of guy. He seemed like he fit in, cool dude, obviously has been an elite receiver in our league for years and years. I know he still has juice left in the tank, and this is like a new challenge for him.”<\/p>\n Warner spent half of the season on the sideline, and with this knowledge of the game, he absolutely saw how much Brock Purdy could’ve used another weapon to throw, especially late in the season.<\/p>\n Evans has been one of the league’s best since the Buccaneers took him in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft out of Texas A&M.
