Free agent tight end Dallas Goedert<\/a> is signing a one-year deal to return to the Eagles<\/a>, according to multiple<\/a> reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Goedert, a second-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, grew into a bigger role throughout his eight seasons with the Eagles and had the best year of his career in 2025. He posted a career-high in touchdowns (11) at the perfect time as he hit the free agent market for the first time.<\/p>\n

The Eagles faced multiple free agents on defense this offseason, with safety Reed Blankenship, linebacker Nakobe Dean and defensive end Jaelan Phillips, who all left the team. Goedert will not join that list of players and maintains continuity on the offensive side of the ball.<\/p>\n

This one doesn’t take much squinting or prediction. Goedert was Philadelphia’s top red zone threat in 2025; only two of his 11 touchdowns came from more than 15 yards out.<\/p>\n

In 2026, Philadelphia will have its fifth different offensive coordinator of the last five years. This year’s hire, Sean Mannion, comes from outside of the Eagles’ building, unlike the previous hire (Kevin Patullo).
