The Arizona Cardinals<\/a> could be adding a new linebacker in free agency, someone to replace recently released LB Akeem Davis-Gaither. According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss<\/a>, the Cardinals will have former New England Patriots linebacker Jack Gibbens in for a visit.<\/p>\n He was a restricted free agent for the Patriots whom they did not tender, making him an unrestricted free agent.<\/p>\n In 2025, his only season in New England, he played in 17 games and started eight in a rotational linebacker role. He had a total of 81 tackles, eight tackles for loss, a sack, three quarterback hits, four pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 491 defensive snaps.<\/p>\n He also played 281 snaps on special teams.<\/p>\n He would perhaps fill the role that Davis-Gaither had last season, playing alongside Mack Wilson. He also played a lot on special teams, leading the team with 20 total special teams tackles. Davis-Gaither, though, was entering the second year of a two-year, $10 million deal.<\/p>\n Need a news break?
