The Dallas Cowboys have arguably had a pretty successful offseason and still have plenty to time to continue to improve upgrading the roster further. Only time will tell what direction they will take from here, but one thing is certain, they\u2019re not done filling out their roster whether it be in free agency or with the draft.<\/p>\n
Today, we wanted to take a look back at the moves they\u2019ve made so far and what they still need to do to better prepare themselves for the upcoming 2026 NFL season.<\/p>\n

There is still plenty of work that needs to be done to upgrade a few starting positions and add some much-needed depth as well. Let\u2019s take a look at where they should focus their attention now.<\/p>\n
The addition of Cobie Durant was a good move by the Cowboys to add another starting caliber CB as well as much-needed depth to the position. But, the unknowns long-term future of DaRon Bland due to back-to-back offseason surgeries to the same foot is a significant concern. There\u2019s also the unknown development of Shavon Revel to consider. With Durant on just a one-year deal and concerns with both Bland and Revel, drafting another CB early this year is very much still in play. As we all know, you can never have too many CBs on the roster.<\/p>\n
The trade for Rashan Gary gave the Cowboys a starter opposite Donovan Ezeiruaku and signing both Sam Williams and Tyrus Wheat provide much-needed depth. While those are all solid moves, none of them really provide much juice as pass rushers. There\u2019s been rumors about trading for Jonathan Greenard, but so far there\u2019s been little to no movement suggesting Dallas is interested. That pretty much leaves the draft, which fortunately has some solid options who could provide that juice if they draft one relatively early.<\/p>\n
As things stand right now, the Cowboys have done absolutely nothing to upgrade and find a much needed starter at MLB. Sadly, it\u2019s unlikely they find a solution via free agency considering the position is pretty much been picked clean. A trade is one way to address this roster \u201cneed\u201d, but again, it takes two to tango and so far there\u2019s not so much of a whisper of Dallas exploring the trade market. That again leaves the draft as the most likely way to find their starting MLB. To do that though, it will likely involve one of their two first-round draft picks.<\/p>\n
The biggest surprise of the offseason was probably the Cowboys trading both Osa Odighizuwa and Solomon Thomas. There\u2019s more subtraction at the position right now losing those two and only signing free agent Otito Ogbonnia. This is very much still in position the Cowboys could address via free agency and arguably the easiest. But, they\u2019ve met with and worked out several DTs already in the draft process they could be targeting to help upgrade the position to better fit what Christian Parker envisions there.<\/p>\n
Even after signing free agents Jalen Thompson, who is slated to start the ever important versatile nickel safety role in Christian Parker scheme, and P.J. Locke, it wouldn\u2019t be at all surprising to see Dallas try to further upgrade the position. Odds are they are likely done with the position in free agency, leaving the draft as the most probable option. Whether it\u2019s in the first-round or at any point after, the Cowboys have already been linked to several safety prospects in this year\u2019s draft class.
