AVANDATIMES.COM – The Los Angeles Chargers are continuing their aggressive overhaul of the offensive trenches as the 2026 NFL fiscal year gains momentum. Following key free-agent acquisitions, a new three-round mock draft suggests General Manager Joe Hortiz and Head Coach Jim Harbaugh may look to the collegiate ranks to further solidify the protection around star quarterback Justin Herbert.

Strategic Reinforcements for the Chargers Front

The Chargers have already been proactive in the market, securing center Tyler Biadasz from the Washington Commanders and adding former Miami Dolphins blocker Cole Strange. However, the interior line remains a focal point for a team determined to establish a physical identity under Harbaugh’s leadership. AvandaTimes observed that the team’s recent moves indicate a clear priority on protecting their franchise quarterback while revitalizing the run game.

Alec Elijah of the Pro Football Sports Network recently projected a dual-threat approach for the Bolts. While the first round sees the team selecting Indiana Hoosiers wideout Omar Cooper Jr. at 22nd overall to bolster the offense, the second round focuses back on the line with Oregon’s Emmanuel Pregnon, who impressed scouts at the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this month.

“Bolstering the interior offensive line could be a logical move for the Chargers,” explained Elijah, “and Emmanuel Pregnon offers the type of stability teams covet in the trenches. The talented lineman has emerged as one of the top interior blockers in the 2026 class thanks to his well-rounded skill set and consistent play.”

Scouting Report: Emmanuel Pregnon’s Path to the NFL

Pregnon, a 6-foot-4, 314-pound prospect, has seen his stock rise significantly. His collegiate journey, spanning Wyoming and USC before finishing at Oregon, has equipped him with a wealth of experience, totaling over 3,200 career snaps. NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein has drawn comparisons between Pregnon and Los Angeles Rams guard Kevin Dotson, noting his readiness for the professional level.

“Ultra-durable and experienced, Pregnon has the prototypical frame of a downhill blocker. He’ll get beat to first contact but usually reclaims the rep using well-placed hands, a broad base and upper-body power to displace and finish with authority. Range and foot quickness are average as a move blocker and lead to block leakage against slants.”

Zierlein further elaborated on Pregnon’s capabilities in pass protection, highlighting his ability to read complex defensive schemes. This technical proficiency is seen as a vital asset for a Chargers team looking for immediate impact players.

“In pass pro,” added Zierlein, “he leverages his length well and is quick to detect twists/blitz development. Long pass slides and forward lunges invite counters from skilled, sub-package rushers but protection isn’t a major concern. He’ll be an older rookie who projects as a good plug-and-play starter and immediate run-blocking upgrade.”

With the 2026 draft approaching, the potential addition of Pregnon represents a strategic move to provide Herbert with the necessary protection to compete at the highest level in the AFC West.

AVANDATIMES.COM – The Los Angeles Chargers are continuing their aggressive overhaul of the offensive trenches as the 2026…

[2064
241,45501,7,1012,9018,1014,262,2444,2443,6,15
post-815198","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-los-angeles-chargers","tag-chargers","tag-emmanuel-pregnon","tag-football","tag-jim-harbaugh","tag-joe-hortiz","tag-los-angeles","tag-los-angeles-chargers","tag-losangeles","tag-losangeleschargers","tag-nfl","tag-nfl-draft
["GET
