Potential Pittsburgh Steelers 2026 NFL Draft<\/a> first-round pick Denzel Boston<\/a> did not run the 40-yard dash at the Washington pro day, after also skipping the event at the NFL Combine<\/a>, citing the advice of his agent.<\/p>\n

Boston, a projected first-round pick at wide receiver, performed only the vertical jump and 20-yard short shuttle at the combine, posting a 35-inch vertical and a 4.28-second shuttle.<\/p>\n

At the Washington pro day on Monday, Boston improved his vertical jump to 37.5 inches, but again did not run the 40, according to a report by Brady Henderson of ESPN.<\/a><\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear if not running the 40 will impact Boston\u2019s draft stock. He is currently ranked No. 25 on the NFL Mock Draft<\/a> consensus big board, down from a peak of 20th on Feb. 28.<\/p>\n

The Steelers are one of the teams that could be after Boston, with their first-round pick at No. 21 overall.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-4, 212-pound Boston is a prototypical outside receiver. He has been highly productive over his last two seasons at Washington, catching 63 passes for 834 yards and nine touchdowns in 2024 and 62 passes and 881 yards and 11 touchdowns this past season.<\/p>\n

The Steelers heavily scout Washington, with northwest area scout Mark Bruener<\/a> an alumnus of the school and based in the Seattle area. They drafted tackle Troy Fautanu<\/a> and Mark\u2019s son, linebacker Carson Bruener<\/a> in the last two classes.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear if the Steelers would see Boston as a fit alongside 6-foot-4 DK Metcalf <\/a>and 6-foot-4 Michael Pittman Jr.<\/a>, or if they would prefer a smaller, quicker receiver like USC\u2019s Mekai Lemon, Texas A&M\u2019s KC Concepcion<\/a> or Indiana\u2019s Omar Cooper Jr.<\/a><\/p>\n
