The Seattle Seahawks<\/a> have had some incredibly iconic moments in recent history. The Fail Mary is an unforgettable one, but another play’s a whole lot more iconic.<\/p>\n

Marshawn Lynch’s “Beast Quake” run against the New Orleans Saints<\/a>, which sparked a new era of Seahawks football, was an instant-classic moment. And looking back on it now, it’s still an iconic moment.<\/p>\n

So much so that it ranks highly in Sporting News 140 Greatest Sports Moments<\/a> since 1886. The “Beast Quake” run is inside the top 100, but where exactly does it rank?<\/p>\n

Lynch’s iconic run is a top-100 play in sports history since 1886, which is an incredible honor considering how many iconic moments there have been in sports history before and since then.<\/p>\n

The “Beast Quake” run for Lynch came against the 11-5 Saints team, coming off their Super Bowl championship the year before in 2010.<\/p>\n

The 7-9 Seahawks in a weak NFC West got the home bid against the Saints, and they made the most of their home-field advantage.<\/p>\n

As Lynch rattled off the iconic 67-yard touchdown run, breaking tackles, shoving players off of him, and running into the endzone for one of the most iconic touchdown runs in NFL history, and a top-100 in sports history according to Sporting News.<\/p>\n

This one moment was one of the best of all time, and helped the Seahawks fans become synonymous with noise, as their cheers during this run registered a minor earthquake.<\/p>\n

“Beast Quake” is an iconic sports moment, and it’s appropriately ranked inside the top 100 sports moments since 1886. While it’s not a top-50 play, being top-100 is still an incredibly high honor for one single play to register.<\/p>\n
