After being traded from the Seattle Seahawks<\/a> to the Denver Broncos<\/a>, Russell Wilson<\/a>, a one-time Super Bowl champion quarterback, has entered a downward spiral that has worsened with every passing season.<\/p>\n

The stint with the Broncos was short-lived, and so was his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a>, leading him to sign with the New York Giants<\/a> as the starter, only to be ultimately replaced by promising young rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One logical destination for Wilson was with the Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>, as fellow veteran journeyman quarterback Gardner Minshew<\/a> recently signed with the Arizona Cardinals<\/a> to replace Kyler Murray<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for Wilson, the Chiefs pivoted by trading for Justin Fields<\/a>, as Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk<\/a> pointed out.<\/p>\n

On Monday morning, before the Chiefs traded for former Jets<\/a> quarterback Justin Fields, someone was throwing spaghetti on the question of whether Kansas City was eyeing Russell Wilson as Patrick Mahomes insurance.<\/p>\n

With the Chiefs off the board, Wilson must look elsewhere to continue his NFL career, with the Cardinals<\/a>, Steelers and potentially the Las Vegas Raiders<\/a> being options. However, Florio doesn\u2019t see a reunion in Pittsburgh coming to fruition. Minshew is now in Arizona, and Wilson might not be open to competing with another rookie quarterback in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

His days as a starting quarterback have ended. The only teams with a current vacancy at the top of the depth chart are the Cardinals and the Steelers. A Pittsburgh reunion is highly unlikely, even if Aaron Rodgers doesn\u2019t return.<\/p>\n

The Raiders<\/a> possibly, maybe would be interested in a short-term bridge, if they aren\u2019t comfortable with putting Fernando Mendoza on the field right away. Wilson may not be inclined to once again be the three-game starter before getting\u00a0the tap.<\/p>\n

The clock is ticking on Wilson\u2019s immediate future in the NFL, as he may have to continue to wait for an opportunity to arise, and it will almost certainly be as a backup.<\/p>\n

Kenneth Walker III Was \u2018Irked\u2019 By Lack of Playing Time\"Kenneth<\/p>\n

After helping the Seahawks win the franchise\u2019s second Super Bowl and coming away with Super Bowl MVP honors, star running back Kenneth Walker III<\/a> decided to test NFL free agency and ended up agreeing to a deal with the Chiefs.<\/p>\n

According to Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune<\/a>, spending time with Zach Charbonnet<\/a> in the Seattle backfield might\u2019ve swayed his decision to leave the team in free agency.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut the job share privately irked Walker. He had 47% of the\u00a0Seahawks\u2019\u00a0offense snaps this past season, to\u00a0Charbonnet\u2019s\u00a049%. Charbonnet was\u00a0Seattle\u2019s\u00a0third-down and red-zone running back,\u201d\u00a0Bell wrote.\u00a0\u201cHe scored 12 rushing touchdowns. That was the most for the Seahawks since Marshawn Lynch in their last Super Bowl season of 2014.\u201d<\/p>\n

An interesting development, to say the least, and even though Walker will be missed in Seattle, the Seahawks are in a good place with Charbonnet as long as he makes a full recovery from his season-ending knee injury.<\/p>\n
