This is a massive signing by Texans\u2019 general manager Nick Caserio and his front office. They\u2019ve signed RT\/LG Braden Smith<\/a>, LG\/C Evan Brown<\/a>, re-signed RT Trent Brown<\/a>, and signed RG Ed Ingram to an extension<\/a>. Now, with Teller\u2019s contract, the Texans have found their second starting-caliber veteran offensive lineman in free agency, and set themselves up to take the best lineman available in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n Teller, 31, spent 7 of his 8 years in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns as one of their premiere interior run-blockers, earning 3 Pro Bowl selections and 2 All-Pro Honors from 2020-2023. In his NFL career, Teller has tallied:<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n 6,339 Snaps at RG, 450 Snaps at LG (2018)<\/p>\n 2025 Stats: 765 Snaps at RG, 3 Sacks, 1 Hit, 24 Total Pressures Given Up, 4 Penalties, 62.2 PFF Grade (53.1 PBLK, 65.7 RBLK)<\/p>\n In his time in Cleveland, Wyatt Teller became the catalyst\u00a0 to their dominant rushing attack. His rookie year playing sparring snaps at LG for the Buffalo Bills was forgettable, and his 2019 season with Browns was, too. After that year, however, something awoke within him. Teller had a breakout 2020 campaign<\/a>, nabbing the starting RG spot and becoming the people-mover that RBs Kareem Hunt and (former Texan) Nick Chubb relied upon for their historic rushing seasons. He would hold onto the RG spot and create big holes with fellow lineman J.C. Tretter and Joel Bitonio for the next several years in Cleveland, setting the standard in the muddy AFC-North on how to block in the NFL.<\/p>\n However, there is a reason that Teller remained a free agent all of this time. Lingering ankle and calf injuries<\/a> marred his 2024 and 2025 seasons, ultimately leading declines in his performances, a (controversial) benching, and then an IR placement.<\/a> Those recent injuries and string of rough showings hurt his market in free agency, and Teller has missed games due to leg injuries in the past, as well. When healthy, however, Teller is one of the strongest, toughest interior lineman in the country, and an immediate upgrade for the Houston Texans\u2019 woebegone position group. The team will likely want to move Teller to his original position coming out of college, LG, considering the presence of RG Ed Ingram. It will be interesting to see if Teller will be able to man the left side with as much efficiency as he\u2019s manned the right side all of these years, but, as long as he remains healthy, he\u2019ll be a far cry better than what Houston has had there in previous seasons.<\/p>\n What do you think of this move, though?
