The World Champion Seattle Seahawks hoisted the second Lombardi Trophy in franchise history in no small part due to the resurgence of the special teams in the second year of the Mike Macdonald era.<\/p>\n
It was a sharp contrast with 2024, when the special teams units had fans calling for the team to fire special teams coordinator Jay Harbaugh and the waiver watch was no to see who might be available, but rather to see whether or not John Schneider had moved on from Dee Williams.<\/p>\n
Thus, when the offseason arrived, the Seahawks looked to add veterans with significant special teams experience, a strategy that paid off well for the Hawks. Among the members of the roster who finished in the top eight of non-kicker special teams snaps, three were veterans who had signed one year contracts for at or near league minimum during the 2025 offseason, including D\u2019Anthony Bell, Chazz Surratt and Eric Saubert.<\/p>\n
The Seahawks made sure Saubert would not be leaving by loopholing a contract extension for him during the regular season, and then early in free agency reached agreement on a contract that would see D\u2019Anthony Bell return in 2026.<\/p>\n
Now, according to a report from NFL insider Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 Houston, Surratt will also be back in a Seahawks uniform in 2026.<\/p>\n
