The NFL Annual Meeting is coming next week, and this year, there aren’t many rules changes that have been proposed. While last year was dominated by the talk of perhaps banning the “Tush Push,” this year only two proposals from teams have been submitted.<\/p>\n
One comes from the Pittsburgh Steelers and one from the Cleveland Browns.<\/p>\n
Free agent rule for tampering period<\/p>\n
During the two days of legal negotiating with free agents before the start of the new league year, this year teams were allowed to have video calls with up to five players and were allowed, once terms were agreed to, to make travel plans. The Steelers would like that rule to become permanent.<\/p>\n
Trading draft picks farther out<\/p>\n
The Browns propose allowing teams to trade draft picks up to five years down the road. Currently, teams can only do three years.<\/p>\n
