{"id":821516,"date":"2026-03-19T16:52:19","date_gmt":"2026-03-19T16:52:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/821516\/"},"modified":"2026-03-19T16:52:19","modified_gmt":"2026-03-19T16:52:19","slug":"dolphins-sign-punter-bradley-pinion-from-atlanta-falcons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/821516\/","title":{"rendered":"Dolphins sign punter Bradley Pinion from Atlanta Falcons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Dolphins have agreed to terms with former Atlanta Falcons punter\/kickoff specialist Bradley Pinion, the Sun Sentinel has confirmed, a move that brings in competition for newly-acquired punter Seth Vernon.<\/p>\n<p>NFL Network was first to report the transaction.<\/p>\n<p>This will be the second consecutive year the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sun-sentinel.com\/2026\/03\/19\/chris-perkins-will-draft-and-develop-strategy-finally-pay-off-for-dolphins\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dolphins<\/a> have punter competition in training camp. Last season Jake Bailey, who is now with Atlanta, outdueled Ryan Stonehouse to win the punting job.<\/p>\n<p>Pinion, a 2015 fifth-round draftee by San Francisco, totaled a league-leading 34 punts inside the 20-yard line last season for the Falcons while his three touchbacks were among the league\u2019s fewest.<\/p>\n<p>Pinion, a big punter at 6-foot-5, 265 pounds, averaged 45.1 yards per punt, which ranked 27th in the NFL. His 11 fair catches were tied for 11th best in the league.<\/p>\n<p>Pinion\u2019s 64 punts were 10th most in the league.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sun-sentinel.com\/2026\/03\/18\/dolphins-reportedly-turning-teams-away-from-devon-achane-trade-talks\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dolphins<\/a> finished 10th in the league in net punting last season at 43.6 yards per punt.<\/p>\n<p>Miami is Pinion\u2019s fourth team. He spent his first four seasons (2015-18) with San Francisco followed by three seasons with Tampa Bay (2018-21) before spending the last four with Atlanta.<\/p>\n<p>Pinion is also a kickoff specialist. Last season the Dolphins split kickoff duties between Bailey and kicker Riley Patterson.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, this is the second time Pinion and Vernon have been on the same team.
