Former Eagles running back A.J. Dillon signed with the Carolina Panthers this week.

Pierce is a big, powerful back at 5-foot-10, 215 pounds. As a rookie with the Texans in 2022, Pierce had 220 rushing attempts for 939 yards and 4 touchdowns. Pierce was the Texans’ leading rusher that season.

But since that rookie season, Pierce’s career has tapered off. In 2023, Pierce lost his starting job and rushed for 416 yards, and then rushed for just 293 in 2024.

In 2025, Pierce began the season as the Texans’ third-string running back but was waived in November.
