NASHVILLE \u2013 New Titans head coach Robert Saleh has a vision, and as things came into focus, Cor’Dale Flott was in it.<\/p>\n
“He told me if he had a blank canvas, he sees me fitting in that as a cornerback in his defense,” Flott said. “And that stuck with me. I appreciate somebody that values me, and really sees what I am about.<\/p>\n
“Coach Saleh let me know the player I am, it’s what he wants in this defense. And I agree with him as well. I’m ready to go all-out for him and this team.”<\/p>\n
Flott, who played previously with the New York Giants, signed with the Titans last week when free agency began.<\/p>\n
Flott is coming off the best season of his career, and he thinks he’s getting better.<\/p>\n
“I’m technical, physical, and I never back down,” the 6-foot-2, 175-pound Flott said. “I’m gritty. I’ve heard (Coach Saleh) say he wants guys who aren’t afraid to put their face in the fan. He used that (line) with me, and that’s how I am. I’m not the biggest, but I like to put my nose in there and be feisty and physical.”<\/p>\n
In 2025, Flott started 14 games for the Giants, when he tallied 38 tackles, one interception, 11 passes defended, and a forced fumble.<\/p>\n
Per NextGenStats, Flott allowed a 42.9% completion percentage as the field-side cornerback last season, the fourth-lowest among players targeted at least 20 times from such alignment.<\/p>\n
A third-round pick of the Giants in the 2022 NFL Draft out of LSU, Flott has played in 53 games over the past four seasons, making 37 starts. He’s totaled 153 tackles, three interceptions and 25 passes defensed in his career.<\/p>\n
With the Titans, he’ll be part of a revamped secondary that will also include former Saints cornerback Alontae Taylor and former Chiefs cornerback Joshua Williams, among others. Marcus Harris, a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, showed a lot of promise in his rookie season as well.<\/p>\n
Flott likes the group that’s being assembled, and the defense he’ll incorporate.<\/p>\n
“What I like about (Coach) Saleh is his aggressiveness, and him mixing everything up,” he said. “I feel like me, Alontae and (Joshua), we plan to be the best trio in the league, we talked about it when we first shook hands on the visit. We’re excited to work together and be them guys.<\/p>\n
“I’m excited. We want to turn this thing around.”<\/p>\n
Flott thinks the timing is perfect in Tennessee, with a three-month old son, and now a new team.<\/p>\n
Flott said he’s familiar with Nashville \u2013 his wife, Lauren, worked for an insurance company in the city a few years ago, and he came to town to train for a few months in the offseason.<\/p>\n
He’ll be back in town when the offseason program starts next month.<\/p>\n
