{"id":822751,"date":"2026-03-20T08:26:24","date_gmt":"2026-03-20T08:26:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/822751\/"},"modified":"2026-03-20T08:26:24","modified_gmt":"2026-03-20T08:26:24","slug":"pittsburgh-regional-transit-expanding-bus-and-light-rail-service-for-nfl-draft-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/822751\/","title":{"rendered":"Pittsburgh Regional Transit expanding bus and light-rail service for NFL Draft weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When the NFL Draft comes to Pittsburgh at the end of April, Pittsburgh Regional Transit will be expanding its bus and light-rail service to help accommodate the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/pittsburgh\/news\/pittsburgh-to-host-2026-nfl-draft\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">masses of people attending the three-day event<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.post-gazette.com\/news\/transportation\/2026\/03\/19\/nfl-draft-pittsburgh-regional-transit\/stories\/202603190076\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Pittsburgh Regional Transit&#8217;s Planning &amp; Stakeholders Relations Committee met Thursday morning<\/a> where details were laid out surrounding increased service for the NFL Draft weekend that&#8217;s expected to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/pittsburgh\/news\/2026-nfl-draft-in-pittsburgh-fan-ticket-registration-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">bring an estimated 500,000 to 700,000 people to the city<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The three-day event, which will take place from April 23-25, is expected to be the largest in Pittsburgh history and will have a large geographical footprint split between the city&#8217;s North Shore <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/pittsburgh\/news\/cell-phone-tower-point-state-park-nfl-draft\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">and Point State Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>PRT said the agency is getting $350,000 from a nonprofit managed by VisitPittsburgh that will help cover costs of expanded service, including expected maintenance spending.<\/p>\n<p>The expanded service options will include increased light-rail frequency on the &#8220;T&#8221;
