We still have a long way to go before the 2026 season, but the spring game is always a welcome checkpoint during the offseason. The start of spring ball also means that we are approaching arguably the most critical time of year for recruiting. Let’s discuss the latest updates in today’s Recruiting Roundup:

Louis Esposito scheduling official visits

Louis Esposito, the son of former Michigan football defensive line coach Lou Esposito, committed to the Wolverines last July. His dad was one of the few coaches that head coach Kyle Whittingham kept on the staff, but he left to take a job with the Baltimore Ravens.

Now, the three-star offensive lineman out of Saline is exploring his options a bit more. According to a report from Rivals’ Allen Trieu ($), Esposito has unofficial visits scheduled at Iowa, Notre Dame, Penn State and USC during the spring. He will be at Michigan’s spring game on April 18, and he also locked in his official visit with the Wolverines for June.

Esposito was also in town last week for an unofficial visit, and he is expected back a few other times this spring as well, including for the aforementioned spring game. It’s unclear whether he will reopen his recruitment or not, but you have to raise an eyebrow any time a committed prospect takes visits to other schools. We’ll keep you posted on this one.

Michigan a stand out school for 2027 ATH

Michigan is in good position as of now for 2027 three-star athlete Tytan DeJong. And they talk about how I can be the next great linebacker to come out of the University of Michigan. We are also talking about getting me up there for some spring practices and an official visit. I am looking at the final weekend of May, and I’d like to get out there with another guy that Michigan is recruiting hard, Peyton Higginson.”

DeJong has an official visit scheduled at BYU for the weekend of June 19, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him eventually book one for Michigan as well.

Four-star DL talks recent Michigan visit

2027 four-star defensive lineman Marvin Nguetsop was on campus on Monday, and he enjoyed his trip.

“It was good,” Nguetsop told The Michigan Insider ($). “Last year I came over here to camp and that was the first time.
