Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry has been busy addressing the defensive line in the second week of NFL free agency.<\/p>\n
Berry was back at it again on Friday as the Browns are reportedly re-signing defensive end Sam Kamara, who has spent parts of the last four seasons in Cleveland.<\/p>\n
That is according to NFL Network\u2019s Cameron Wolfe.<\/p>\n
Kamara originally signed with the Chicago Bears in 2021 as an undrafted free agent after playing his college ball at Stony Brook. He played eight games with the Bears in his rookie season, and first arrived with the Browns when the team signed him to the practice squad in October of 2022.<\/p>\n
Since then, Kamara has played in 18 games with the Browns, with a career-high of 11 games in 2024. While he has yet to record a sack, Kamara does have 38 career tackles and six tackles for loss in mostly limited playing time.<\/p>\n
Berry opted not to make a tender offer to Kamara by the March 11 league deadline, which would have made him a restricted free agent and provided the Browns with the opportunity to match any offer he received from another team. But he is back with the squad now, so all\u2019s well that ends well.<\/p>\n
